We only collect the information you choose to give us. When you use our contact form we collect your name, email address, telephone number and the content of your message. If you become a student (or the parent or guardian of a student) we also hold the details needed to run your lessons, such as the language and class you have joined, attendance and lesson notes.

We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking technologies, and we do not build profiles of visitors to this website.

We use your information to reply to your enquiry, to arrange and deliver lessons, and to keep the records we need to run the school. Our lawful bases are your consent when you send us an enquiry, the performance of a contract when you book lessons, and our legitimate interest in running and administering the school.

We do not send marketing emails and we never sell or rent your information to anyone.

Many of our students are children. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 16 through this website other than where a young person completes our contact form, in which case we receive their name, telephone number and message. Where the enquiry concerns lessons for a child we will normally ask to deal with a parent or guardian, and records for students under 18 are held on the basis of parental consent or the contract with the parent or guardian.

Enquiries submitted through this website are delivered to our own inbox at info@speaktheworld.co.uk using our website hosting and email delivery providers, who process the message solely to deliver it to us. Our teachers see only the information they need in order to teach their classes. We may also share information where we are required to do so by law, or to protect the safety of a child or vulnerable person.

Enquiries that do not lead to lessons are kept only as long as needed to deal with the enquiry. Student records are kept for as long as the student is with the school, and for a reasonable period afterwards where we need them for accounting, insurance or safeguarding reasons. After that they are deleted or securely destroyed.

You have the right to ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to withdraw consent at any time. To make a request, email info@speaktheworld.co.uk. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

We take reasonable steps to keep your information safe, including limiting access to those who need it and using reputable, secure providers for our website and email. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we work to protect your information once we receive it.
